Some of the locals put together a Fundraiser at Ashton Creek Hall almost immediately after learning that the Pub had been destroyed by a fire along with the owners suite and all possessions. Bands came from all over BC, got together and hosted a huge party while many local businesses pitched in what they could for a fundraising auction. That kind of support was very inspiring and gave us the drive to carry on with plans to rebuild and bring the pub back better than ever. Several months were spent living in the parking lot in a borrowed motorhome while we worked on a plan for the new building. We were faced with the challenges of building on the existing foundation and starting pretty much from scratch. With some family labour and support from helpful contractors and tradespeople things began to come together and we were rebuilt within a year and a month! Taking the advice of our liquor inspector at the time we applied for a restaurant licenced area as well when we reopened to be better able to serve the community and families coming off the highway looking for a place to eat. It has been a crazy adventure the last few years. A lot has changed and we have learned a lot, met a lot of cool people and gained some truly great staff and friends!
We hope you enjoy your visit !
